Once-Over: Sony SRS-BTM30 Portable Bluetooth Speakers
I picked up this set of speakers on Amazon a couple of days ago for under 70 bucks. The feature set is great - battery powered with AC option, bluetooth connectivity, and decent size - but the sound is less than stellar. Even though I expected this in a portable speaker powered by a 3 AA batteries, Sony has given the BTM30 a heavy bass bias. The bias they have built into this unit turns songs into a muddy mess of low to mid frequencies and really kills the highs.
This unit checks all the right boxes and was a great price; however, I’m still on the fence as to whether I’ll keep it. If you have a recommendation for a great portable, wireless speaker solution please let me know.
